The immersive environment can be similar to the real world in order to create a lifelike experience grounded in reality or sci-fi.
Augmented reality systems may also be considered a form of VR that layers virtual information over a live camera feed into a headset,
or through a smartphone or tablet device.

A virtual reality headset provides virtual reality for the wearer.
The VR headsets are widely used with computer games but they are also used in other applications, including simulators and trainers.
They comprise a stereoscopic head-mounted display (providing separate images for each eye),stereo sound, and head motion tracking sensors which may include gyroscopes, accelerometers,structured light systems and etc.
Some VR headsets also have eye tracking sensors and gaming controllers.
