“Since I loved him so much, I just couldn’t help it”
A 21-year-old Japanese woman from Shinjuku district, Tokyo was recently arrested after she nearly stabbed her male acquaintance to death in her apartment.
The incident happened on May 23 when the suspect, identified as Yuka Takaoka,
stabbed the man believed to be her male acquaintance in his 20s to 30s in the stomach, according to Japan Today. Takaoka, who lives on the fifth-floor of the apartment building, later called the police and admitted to the crime.
At around 3:20 p.m, Yuka Takaoka, of no known any occupation, allegedly used a knife to stab her man. The man was transported to a hospital where he remains in serious condition, according to the Shinjuku Police Station.
Upon arrival, police found the woman sitting and smoking beside the man as he lied on the floor covered in blood in the lobby of the apartment building.
Video report from media outlets in Japan even showed Takaoka smiling as she was escorted inside a police car.

During questioning, police learned that this incident was likely the result of a problem within the relationship of the suspect and the victim.
“Since I loved him so much, I just couldn’t help it,” Takaoka was quoted. “After killing him, I, too, wanted to die.
” she told the authorities.
The victim, whose name was not revealed, was rushed to the hospital where he was in critical condition while officers accused Takaoka of attempted murder.
