SSONG as Immortal new coach
The Immortals has brought in former ROX Tigers player and Longzhu Gaming coach Kim’SSONG’ Sang-Soo to their team as their new head coach for their League of Legends division.
As a player, SSONG left ROX after 18 months at the end of last year but not before strong performance in the LCK scene.
Amongst others, his team had won the 2016 Spring Split, 2016 Summer Split, 2016 LCK Summer Playoffs, the 2016 LoL Kespa Cup, and became at Worlds last year, placing 3rd-4th.
SSONG then moved on from ROX to become coach at the helm of Longzhu Gaming and enjoyed a successful stint there, as great results allowed the previously average team grew to become what many considered the third-best LCK team.
However, SSONG left as swiftly as he came without reason, prompting a downhill decline for Longzhu.
While the Immortals had struggled in recent fixtures, it will be their hope that their new coach could hone them in the strategical aspect of the meta. His appointment would also allow better communication with both Lee “Flame” Ho-jong and Kim “Olleh” Joo-sung, as the North American League Championship Series resumes for the Summer Split.
