More than 2 million people have signed up to “Storm Area 51” in September as a joke in Facebook event.
A prank event on Facebook that is pulled over more than 2 million interested individuals recommends that a mass of people endeavor to run into the mysterious site at 3am on September 20.
The Facebook event, apparently named “Storm Area 51: They can’t stop us all” plans to gather a mass on September 20, 2019, outside of Area 51 and to storm the secluded, secretive military base.
The event has gone viral, producing numerous memes about aliens and the mysterious sites.
The event has gathered so much attention, even the Air Force itself is speaking out!
The US Air Force has warned people against participating in an internet joke by recommending a huge horde of people to storm the sites, which are the top-secret Cold War test site in the Nevada desert.
“[Area 51] is an open training range for the U.S. Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces,” Nellis Air Force Base said. “The U.S. Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets.”
However, mystery encompassing the site has filled conspiracy theories among UFO enthusiasts.
The sites grew a little, alien-themed tourist industry in surrounding desert communities, including alien themed bistros, an alien themed hotel and an alien-themed brothel.
